rigmate [rig-meyt] noun, a totally rad apparatus for a
power rack.
FAQ
What is a Rigmate?
No really, what is it?
Rigmates are magnetic hitch pins that fit into most weight lifting racks via the 1" or 5/8" diameter holes. Not only do they look awesome, but also can be used to secure most rig attachments.
They have 5.5" of usable length on the steel pin and a neodymium magnet that holds the 3D printed, ornamental head in place. It makes a satisfying "schING!" sound when it connects with the rig.
Are these made in the USA?
YES! We manufacture the ornamental heads ourselves here in the suburbs of Kansas City, MO using 3D resin printers.
We designed the custom pin and are having them manufactured at a precision CNC machining facility in Appleton, WI.
Are these sold as singles or pairs?
All RIGMATES mag pins are sold as singles. You'll get free shipping if you purchase 2 (orders over $75)
Can I use them for my attachments or do they just look cool?
Both.
Multiple Rigmates can create a custom look to your Altar of Iron and fit in all those empty holes you're not using.
The functional stainless steel pin can be used with many attachments where you otherwise use a standard hitch pin. However, the dimensions of the ornamental pieces vary, so please check their measurements to ensure that it will fit with your attachment.
Are these commercial grade?
Rigmates are meant for home gyms. The ornament portion of the Rigmate is made from engineering grade resin. Its robust, but may chip if its thrown on the ground carelessly like some people do with rubber dumbbells.
How should you handle these when getting them out of the rig?
We suggest lightly tapping the pin from behind to pop the magnetic force then grabbing the Rigmate "head" from the front to finish pulling it out.
Who is behind Rigmates?
We're a husband and wife team who (like thousands of others) started building out our home gym during Covid. We're average lifters who hope to pass on the joy of strength training and building a business to our two young kids.
Magnet & Pull Force Information
We want our customers to feel informed and comfortable in making the right decision on what magnet strength is going to align best with their preferences.
These are estimates and intended to simply give a reference point on magnet strength.
How are you calculating the pull force?
We are estimating based on maximum pull force generated between the full surface area of our magnets and a thick, ground, flat steel plate.
What are the magnet dimensions?
They are a ring or "donut" shape.
3mm thick, 15mm inner diameter, 30mm outer diameter
Does the pin diameter size affect the estimated maximum pull force?
YES.
The 5/8” pins leave most of the magnet surface area exposed and would have a similar estimate to the full maximum pull force we have posted.
We use the same sized magnets for all RIGMATES. Therefore the larger diameter of the 1" pin reduces the surface area of the magnet making contact with your rig and the estimated pull force by about 35%
